About Us

The Grand Haven Lighthouse Quilt Guild meets on the 2nd Monday of each month:

United Methodist Church of the Dunes
717 Sheldon Rd., Grand Haven, Michigan.

6:30 p.m. Social Time; 7:00 p.m. Meeting

At many of our monthly meetings, we host local or national speakers, share our work with each other, and enjoy time learning new quilting techniques or patterns. We occasionally challenge each other or join in block exchanges. We also host local quilt vendors so members can shop and check out the newest fabrics and quilting supplies.

We devote two of our monthly meetings each year for sew-ins. We bring sewing machines, fabric and sew, sew, sew. One meeting is dedicated to making baby quilts. Click here to learn more about our charity projects.

We also plan trips to special events of interest to our members. In April each year, our guild organizes a bus trip to the Chicago International Quilt Festival. This one-day trip to the Rosemont Center is a treat for the eyes and is filled with the latest and greatest in quilting.

Our annual quilt show is the last Friday and Saturday of July, in conjunction with the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival. It is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Members showcase over 130 quilts, offer demonstrations and share stories about their antique quilts. Quilt and food vendors are available for everyone. This one-of-a-kind show is held at the St. Patrick’s Church Family Center in Grand Haven.
